Special Educational Needs and Disabilities

Head Teacher: Mrs H Storey

SENCo: Mrs E Muir

At Pennington Church of England Primary School, we are committed to meeting the special educational needs of all our pupils and to ensuring that every child achieves the best possible outcomes. Within the Christian environment of our Church of England school, it is our aim, in partnership with parents, the staff & governors, for our children to be happy, secure and prepared for life.

Our school aims to provide a broad and balanced curriculum, which is differentiated to meet individual needs and abilities. Children may have Special Educational Needs or Disability (SEND) throughout or at any time during their school career. We strive to ensure that curriculum planning and assessment take account of the type and extent of the difficulty experienced by the pupil. All staff aim to plan for a pupil’s Special Educational Needs and/or Disability, enabling them to participate effectively in all curriculum, assessment, extra-curricular activities and the broader aspect of school life as far as is reasonably possible.

Please use the School Information section below to access the school's SEND Policy, Information Report and Westmorland and Furness's Local Offer.

‘God has given each of us different gifts
Together we can do great things.’

At Pennington Church of England Primary School we share Christian values and God’s love through our teaching and learning.

We aim to nurture and educate every unique Pennington child, regardless of gender, race, culture or background. We celebrate individuality and appreciate everybody’s different gifts.

Children grow into happy, confident people who proudly reach their potential whilst developing their own talents and interests. We enjoy learning within our Pennington family, our community and God’s wider world.
